Miss Rumphius Inspiration

As an idealist, it was very difficult to set my heart on a project that someone wouldn't say was impossible. I contemplated traveling around with my best friend, painting a whole series of pictures of body types, and also organizing a Women's Rights event, a body-positive walk in boston. When I realized that the time I have is less than I thought, I realized what my many ideas had in common. They had to do with going places and making the world a little better.

That's when I remembered my favorite story from my childhood. It's called Miss Rumphius, by Barbara Cooney. In the story, Miss Rumphius has 3 goals in life: to travel to far away places, to live by the sea, and to make the world a little more beautiful.

I realized that if a story book has influenced me so much, then I could create a story book that could influence others even ten years later.

And so I will.
